The First Step to Quitting Your Job
A workshop for people who want to get started on quitting.
Problem #1
You want to quit your job, but you have no idea where to even start.
You’ve been scouring the internet for jobs, but are so burnt out that looking for a new job is starting to feel like a job too.
The idea of writing a cover letter makes you want to bang your head against the wall.
Problem #2
You know you can’t just quit when you have bills to pay.
Every time you think, “I am so ready to quit this damn job” you remember that bills don’t pay themselves.
Leaving the security of your current job feels financially foolish, so you’ve got a constant inner battle going on between the part of you that is desperate to leave and the part of you that is terrified to leave.
Problem #3
Changing your job could mean changing your whole life.
Quitting a job can have massive ripple effects across our lives.
It can impact our livelihood, relationships, sense of purpose, or even where we live. Thinking about changing our lives can be fun, but actually changing them can be terrifying.
Quitting your job can feel like trying to get to the top of a mountain in a single leap.
But you don’t need to do this in one gigantic jump.
All you need to do is take that first step.

What my clients have to say:
Email from a client six months after coaching our final coaching session:
“Hi Cecily, happy (almost) spring! I hope you are doing well.
As I started my search for jobs, I had your voice ringing clearly in my ears – what would it be like if you actively went after something you wanted?
And it gave me power and agency to really consider that, and then do it!
My new job is the first one I'll ever have in a different sector, which is a little scary but also an exciting opportunity. I feel like I can see the potential ahead of me — now it's just up to me to act on whatever it may become :)
Thank you again so much for everything you did for me during our coaching sessions. I know that it made a huge difference in my professional journey. I'm glad to be leaving a job before it feels years too late (another thing you helped me work through).”

About your host (me, Cecily Rose Engelhart)
I'm a liberatory career coach and consultant who helps people feeling burnt out or bored in their jobs reset their career pathways in order to do work that they feel passionate about without over sacrificing their time, energy, or health.
Since I was 13 years old, I’ve had a job (sometimes 2 or 3). In the couple of decades since then, I’ve shifted from being someone’s employee to running my own companies.
If you’ve landed on this page, it is because you know that you also need some kind of shift in your career. Perhaps it’s a promotion. Perhaps it’s a new job. And perhaps it is starting a business.
And I know where to start to support you in figuring that out.
I see what I do as creating a career that makes you feel in alignment with your purpose, abundant with the resources you need, and agility while navigating the systems we are in.
I am a cis gender, able bodied woman of Ihanktonwan Dakota, Oglala Lakota, and European settler descent (including Irish, French, German, and English). I live the rural life on the Ihanktonwan Nation in South Dakota with my family in a 100+ year old house we are slowly (but surely) restoring.
When I'm not coaching people on the next stage of their careers, I can be found cooking with my family, playing games, watching movies, and (if the weather is right) swimming in the Missouri River.
I’m currently penning my first book and in the early development stages of my Native travel show.
